Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting preschoolers as a Paraprofessional in a vibrant educational environment near Elmira, NY. You'll work onsite, providing essential 1:1 support for a preschool student, helping to nurture their growth and meet their individual needs throughout the academic year.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a school, preschool, or behavioral support setting required
- For Assistant roles: New York Teacher’s Assistant Certification is necessary
- For Aide positions: Demonstrated background in preschool environments or behavioral support preferred
- Comfortable providing personal care, including diapering and hygiene tasks
- Compassionate, patient, and proactive in encouraging a positive learning atmosphere
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with team members
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on, individualized assistance to one preschool student in the classroom
- Support and reinforce the student’s behavioral and academic development as a consistent presence
- Help implement behavior management strategies and routines outlined by teaching staff
- Assist with personal care needs, ensuring the child feels supported and secure
- Participate in team meetings and communicate progress or concerns as needed
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes independence and engagement
