Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting an individual preschool student as a dedicated paraprofessional in a vibrant educational environment. This onsite role spans the academic year and is perfect for those passionate about early childhood development and individualized support.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience working in preschool or school settings, particularly with behavior management, is highly valued.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care needs, including diaper changing and daily routines.
- For paraprofessional aides: hands-on classroom or behavioral experience is required.
- For paraprofessional assistants: a valid New York State Teacher’s Assistant Certificate is needed.
- Demonstrates empathy, patience, and effective communication skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and foster an inclusive atmosphere for students.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a preschool-aged student, adapting strategies to support their behavioral, social, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with certified teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior strategies.
- Assist with classroom activities, personal care, and transitions throughout the school day.
- Observe and record student progress, sharing insights with the educational team.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that encourages development and learning.
This full-time position offers structured weekly hours through the school year, enabling candidates to make a direct impact in early childhood education within a supportive, team-oriented setting.
