Litigation Legal Assistant

Our dynamic, boutique law firm is looking for a smart, motivated, and creative problem-solver to fill a mixed administrative role. Must have 3+ years of experience directly supporting trial / litigation attorneys. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate wearing a variety of hats, from face-of-the-firm at the front desk, answering phones and welcoming guests; to office manager ordering supplies and groceries and tidying up for meetings and depositions; to legal assistant / paralegal labeling exhibits, making trial binders, and organizing case files; to traditional executive administrative functions like letter-drafting and mail management; to the occasional personal errands for partners and other lawyers in a jam. This is an in-office, full-time role that supports a team of 4-6 attorneys. Typical work hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm with the occasional need to stay late or offer weekend support.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Texas E-File and PACER (federal) electronic court filing systems
• Check-writing and light bookkeeping / bill paying
• Extreme organizational skills
• 3+ years supporting trial attorneys / in litigation
• MSWord, Adobe PDF, Excel

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with legal case management systems, such as Smokeball, Clio, LEAP, etc.
• Experience with bookkeeping concepts and software, such as QuickBooks, a plus but not required
