Medical Biller

We are seeking a Medical Biller I to assist with a backlog of pharmacy and billing entries within Epic. This role involves researching flagged accounts, reviewing medical records, validating billing information, and updating records accurately. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable performing repetitive computer-based work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Location: Pasadena, CA / RemoteDuration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday (6:00 AM-2:30 PM, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM) Responsibilities:
- Research and review flagged pharmacy and billing entries in Epic.
- Analyze medical records to validate billing information and determine appropriate actions.
- Process billing-related updates accurately and efficiently.
- Document findings and maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain productivity while handling high-volume, detail-oriented tasks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-9 codes.
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare clerical experience (referrals, authorizations, medical records, etc.) and/or direct medical billing experience.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to summarize findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Required: Experience using Epic.
- Highly Preferred: Experience with Epic Resolute (billing module).
