Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Surgical Unit night shift position requiring an active Oregon OR RN license and ACLS/PALS certifications.

Details

• Work on a Surgical Unit within a hospital setting
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care to adult surgical patients
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Floating to other departments required where qualified to perform patient care
• Initiate computerized Plan of Care upon patient admission

Requirements

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• BSN or MSN preferred
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
• CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months

• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and monitor vital signs before and after surgical procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response
• Provide age-specific, culturally sensitive, and psychosocially aware patient care
• Convey empathy and compassion while communicating effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Support hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to the position
