As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Checkpoint in Franklin Park, IL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.34 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and document arrivals, departures, and deliveries in accordance with property protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to property management and/or public emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout lobbies, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Support day-to-day security-related operations by communicating clearly with building personnel and/or guests, maintaining accurate reports, and following post orders for access control and tenant assistance.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
