Accurately and safely compound medication admixtures in accordance with

USP 797

and organizational policies Handle hazardous drugs according to USP 800 and NIOSH recommendations Maintain the clean room for sterile compounding Perform routine quality assurance monitoring Comply with regulatory and institutional guidelines for hazardous drug waste disposal Perform other job-related tasks assigned by the supervising pharmacist Work at Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center in Maywood, with potential rotation to other off-site locations Perform IV compounding and inventory management for the majority of working time Rotate among 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., and 8:30 a.m. starts Work one Saturday approximately every eight weeks Requirements High School Diploma 1-2 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician Current IL licensure as a Pharmacy Tech Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification validated by PTCB or ExCPT certification validated by NHA required for all technicians licensed after December 31st, 2007 Newly licensed technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain CPhT and become licensed as a registered certified pharmacy technician Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred Student enrolled in a college of Pharmacy preferred Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment or related field preferred Ability to accurately and safely compound medication admixtures under USP 797 and organizational policies Ability to handle hazardous drugs according to USP 800 and NIOSH recommendations Ability to maintain clean room standards, perform quality assurance monitoring, and comply with hazardous drug waste disposal guidelines Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in compounding medication admixtures in compliance with USP 797 and handling hazardous drugs per USP 800.
