Business Analyst

Job Summary We are seeking a Business Analyst for a direct hire opportunity in San Juan, PR within the insurance industry. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys transforming business, underwriting, portfolio, financial, and operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making. The Business Analyst will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and develop dashboards, reports, and analytical models that improve visibility across the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business, underwriting, portfolio, financial, and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical models using Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
• Evaluate profitability, business performance, and key metrics to support strategic planning and management decisions.
• Translate complex data findings into clear insights, summaries, and recommendations for leadership and business partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting, budgeting, planning, portfolio analysis, and operational initiatives.
• Support ad hoc analysis and data-driven projects that improve visibility, decision-making, and business outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
• Direct hire opportunity.
• Location: San Juan, PR.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Analyze underwriting, portfolio, financial, and business performance data.
• Build dashboards, reports, and analytical models using Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
• Support budgeting, planning, profitability analysis, and strategic business initiatives.
• Present data-driven insights and recommendations to management and business partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in business analytics, data analytics, financial analytics, actuarial analytics, risk analytics, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced SQL, Excel, and Power BI skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Experience in financial services.
• Familiarity with underwriting performance, portfolio analysis, profitability analysis, or risk metrics.
