The Legal Assistant will be responsible for working with an attorney and paralegal/manager to conduct day-to-day operations of the law office, including carrying out administrative services, providing support to the legal team and ensuring that the firm remains in compliance with client and legal regulations. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.Position requirements: Prior legal experience preferred but not required. Excellent writing, proofreading, customer service and communication skills. Able to take direction and work independently. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Comfortable operating and learning computer programs and web-based systems. Knowledge of Mortgage Default industry a plus but not required.Benefit details: Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost. Full-time employees receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a PTO package of 12 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.Compensation details: $18-$21/hr. The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate.
