2‐Year‐Old Lead Teacher – Full-Time

About the Role

The 2‐Year‐Old Lead Teacher creates a nurturing, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 24–36 months. This role leads the classroom with intentional routines, hands‐on learning experiences, and strong communication with families. The Lead Teacher ensures safety, supports social‐emotional growth, and models professionalism while guiding assistant teachers and maintaining compliance with licensing standards.

Job Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership & Instruction

• Implements high‐quality programming, educational focus, and care in the assigned classroom.
• Maintains consistent supervision of children and ensures a safe, nurturing environment.
• Encourages meaningful engagement and interaction with children throughout the day.
• Supports the Lead Teacher with planning, evaluating, and implementing educational programs.
• Prepares the classroom environment and materials according to weekly lesson plans.
• Implements age‐appropriate developmental and culturally responsive activities.
• Serves as a backup to the Lead Teacher when needed.
• Provides leadership and guidance to other team members within the classroom.

Child Development & Support

• Identifies and supports children’s individual differences and developmental needs.
• Adjusts curriculum, activities, and environment as necessary to support growth.
• Participates in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.
• May assist with classroom progress reports and developmental documentation.

Classroom Operations

• Ensures adequate supplies and resources are available.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Monitors classroom management including ratios, attendance, mealtime, toileting, resting, and daily schedules.
• Participates in classroom transition processes.

Professionalism & Compliance

• Abides by and enforces all company policies and procedures.
• Displays enthusiasm, professionalism, and a nurturing demeanor at all times.
• Participates in team efforts to achieve the company’s mission and vision.
• Maintains 24 professional development hours or 8 college credits annually.

Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following:

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• CDA or credits toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in early childhood education
• 45 professional development hours
• 3–6 ECE college credits
