Assistant Professor

Position: Full-time, tenure-track faculty (Assistant Professor) in the Alden March Bioethics Institute (AMBI) at Albany Medical College, Albany, NewYork. Department/Unit: Ethics. Work Shift: Day (United States). Salary: $111,921.00. Start date: between January2027 and July2027. Application deadline: 91526. Responsibilities Engage in conceptual or empirical research in bioethics. Publish scholarly works. Teach two graduate courses in clinical ethics and design courses for AMBI’s online graduate bioethics program. Participate in teaching the four‑year ethics curriculum of Albany Medical College. Serve as a clinical ethics consultant for the Albany Medical System and provide clinical ethics consultation. Mentor graduate students, medical students, and clinical ethics fellows. Qualifications Concentration and specialization in bioethics or another area in ethics with applications to bioethics. Terminal degree from disciplines including philosophy, anthropology, sociology, history, medicine, nursing, or law. Ability to secure external funding is desirable but not required. Prior clinical ethics consultation experience is not required; training will be provided in the first year. Benefits Generous leave time. Health and dental insurance. 403(b) plan option.
