Field Operations Manager- Electrical

Responsible for leading field and shop operations to achieve gross profit plans through effective execution of project work. Additionally, owns final responsibility for all division trade related work in both the field and the fabrication facilities. Responsibilities Maintain a strong working relationship with local unions, develop rapport with union leadership, keep current with union contract changes, and resolve escalated issues with management. Collaborate closely with division Field Operations leaders to learn and share best practices, ensuring all company field personnel are utilized effectively across divisions and participating in company‑wide meetings. Negotiate favorable trade concessions and project agreements for targeted projects during the procurement phase and beyond. Work with field leadership to develop project‑specific construction planning techniques. Actively participate in developing “Must Win” strategies for project pursuits, including estimate reviews, fabrication strategies, labor productivity rates, crew ratios, constructability plans, and field execution planning. Monitor new products and advise management when appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience. Continuing education in management and business preferred. 10+ years in MEP trade management (preference for electrical) and managing profitable projects with a proven ability to improve margin. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project. Solid knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction of the MEP industry. Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Complex problem‑solving skills—identify complex problems, review related information, evaluate options, and implement solutions. Coordination skills—adjust actions in relation to others’ actions. Strong communication skills—provide information to supervisors, peers, and subordinates by telephone, written form, e‑mail, or in person.
