Senior Commercial Analyst

The Senior Commercial Analyst will support the Sales & Commercial teams for the North America region, working under the VP of Markets & Strategy. This position is based at the North America headquarters in Houston, TX. This individual will play a critical role in strengthening commercial capabilities across the organization, with a focus on pricing and profitability analysis, commercial strategy, forecasting, and planning. This is a high-impact role driving financial, commercial, and operational outcomes in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver superior service and build lasting relationships through professionalism, collaboration, and strong business acumen. Commercial Analysts interpret market trends, develop pricing strategies, and assess business opportunities using data analysis tools and modeling. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business decisions, combining technical expertise with strategic thinking. As markets become more complex and data-driven decision-making becomes essential, this role plays a key part in forecasting trends, optimizing operations, and supporting strategic planning. Your Role at a Glance Support Sales in forecasting and planning, pricing development, price governance, and customer/product/delivery mix analysis. Analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and develop pricing and commercial strategies to maximize profitability. Partner with Sales to enter new markets or grow share in existing markets; evaluate performance against business cases. Conduct customer and product segmentation analysis to identify high-value opportunities. Develop and maintain financial models focused on pricing and profitability. Analyze sales and market data to identify trends, forecast demand, and evaluate strategy effectiveness. Prepare detailed reports and presentations highlighting business performance and strategic insights. Monitor competitor strategies and market activity to inform planning. Conduct risk analysis on commercial activities and propose mitigation strategies. Partner with finance to understand key drivers and monthly performance results. Develop reporting tools and insights aligned with best practices to support a customer-focused, data-driven organization. What Sets You Apart We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytical roles within a financial or commercial environment Corporate strategy and/or marketing experience in the energy industry preferred Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Power BI Strong analytical capabilities, including financial modeling and data analysis Proven ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights Experience evaluating market dynamics, pricing trends, and competitive landscapes Ability to apply strategic and financial frameworks to complex business challenges Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively What Powers Your Performance Success in this role is driven by ownership, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.
