This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive gastroenterology in a collaborative hospital-based environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaboration & Quality Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, oncology, radiology, and primary care teams Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and patient safety initiatives Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical record documentation Adhere to medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary with productivity incentives Sign‑on bonus Relocation assistance Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off CME allowance Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Potential student loan repayment assistance Responsibilities Clinical Duties Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures: Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Colonoscopy, Biopsy and polypectomy, Hemostasis and dilation, PEG placement Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions including: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Liver disease and hepatitis, Pancreatic disorders, Gastrointestinal bleeding Participate in a shared call schedule Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of accredited Internal Medicine residency Completion of accredited Gastroenterology fellowship Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Eligible for or active Maine medical license DEA registration BLS and ACLS certification Pay Transparency CMH actively promotes diversity in its workforce at all levels of the organization.
