Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dedicated team in a rural hospital setting. This facility is heavily reliant on travelers and offers a supportive environment to ensure high-quality patient care in the community.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of conditions including congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
• Monitor patients' vital signs and interpret telemetry data, working collaboratively with telemetry monitor technicians.
• Administer medications, including the titration of heparin as needed.
• Coordinate patient care with a focus on communication and time management skills.
• Participate in departmental orientation with opportunities for shadowing experienced staff.

Schedule Requirements

• 36 hours per week or 36/48 hours bi-weekly options available.
• 12-hour shifts with scheduling determined by management; block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required.
• Potential to float to various medical/surgical units and possibly the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for telemetry holds prior to transfer.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of recent experience in a Med/Tele environment.
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Experience in a rural hospital setting is advantageous.

Additional Information

• Registered Nurses will be required to read telemetry strips.
• Personal Care Technicians (PCTs) will be present to assist with patient care, typically maintaining a ratio of 1:12.
• This unit employs Paragon Charting System, with a transition to EPIC planned for October 30, 2026.
• Scrub color/dress code is navy blue.
