Environmental Analyst II - Laboratory

GC Analyst II – Richmond, VA Position Summary: As an Analyst II in our Richmond, VA Lab, you will assist multiple projects, interacting with multidisciplinary staff, regulatory agencies, and clients. The role requires ownership of sample preparation, GC analysis, maintenance of equipment, and documentation. Compensation: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Schedule: Monday – Friday. Key Responsibilities Prepare samples for GC analysis in compliance with EPA and other governing body regulations. Analyze samples by GC instrumentation in compliance with EPA and other governing regulations. Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment. Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis. Participate in overhead projects designed to improve efficiency and/or accuracy of analyses. Assist Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and instrumentation parts. Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program. Comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan. Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director. Qualifications & Skills BA/BS degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training). Minimum 2 years’ experience in an analytical chemistry environment/laboratory. Strong understanding of general lab practices and lab safety. Ability to work independently and in a team. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficient in computers and database software. Must pass a screen drug test. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Sitting, standing, and walking. Possible lifting of 50 pounds several times a day and overhead lifting of over 20 pounds. Work in an office environment; possible exposure to hot and cold environments.
