Communications Coordinator

Communications Coordinator Church: FiveStone Community Church Location: Garland, TX Position Type: Part-Time (Approx. 20-30 hours/week) Reports to: Executive Pastor Position Summary The Communications Coordinator will manage and execute our church's communication strategy. This part-time role will be the central hub for all our promotional and informational efforts, ensuring our church and community is informed, engaged, and connected. You will be a proactive project manager who thrives on creating clear systems, managing deadlines, and collaborating with various ministry leaders. You will be responsible for coordinating all creative requests, managing our digital platforms (social media, website, app, email), and ensuring our message is communicated clearly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Project Management: Serve as the primary project manager for all communication requests, managing timelines, assets, and deliverables using our project management tools, Asana, MailChimp, Church Media Squad and Planning Center. Creative Coordination: Act as the liaison with our creative team by loading all event details, sermon graphics, and ministry needs into the Church Media Squads portal for graphic and video creation. Scheduling: Manage the schedules for volunteer and/or contracted videographers and photographers for Sunday services, special events, and announcement video shoots. Social Media Management: Develop and maintain a content calendar, scheduling all approved posts across our church's social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram). Work with a team of volunteers to collect content for our social channels. Email Marketing: Create and send bi-weekly email newsletters to promote upcoming events, share ministry updates, and highlight what is happening in our church community. Digital Platform Updates: Regularly update our church website and mobile app with new event information, sermon details, and other necessary changes to keep content current and accurate. Content Administration: Ensure all communications are clear, professional, and consistent with the church's voice and mission. Qualifications and Skills Required: Proven experience in an administrative, project management, or communications role. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar. Highly organized and system-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. A proactive self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of projects. Proficient in using digital tools and capable of quickly learning new software platforms. A collaborative spirit with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with pastors, staff, and volunteers. A personal commitment to the mission and values of FiveStone Community Church. Preferred Experiences and Skills: Familiarity with the project management software Asana, or something similar. A basic understanding of Story Brand marketing principles and how to apply them. Experience with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp and website content management systems (CMS) like Planning Center. Previous experience working or volunteering in a church or non-profit setting.
