Summary Under general supervision, plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates moderate‑scope projects or detailed phases of larger projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage engineering aspects of moderate‑scope projects or detailed phases of major projects. Lead cost, schedule, and performance studies of conventional projects. Support operations with standard and non‑standard engineering techniques and procedures. Communicate engineering ideas, recommendations, and evaluations to diverse internal groups. Represent the company’s interests in complex engineering matters. Provide broad technical support to associates. Apply engineering expertise to improve or develop new standards. Provide technical direction and supervise contractors and personnel. Competencies Apply engineering principles, practices, and regulations; perform economic and decision‑analysis studies in areas such as generation, transmission, distribution, planning, finance, and environmental controls. Read, interpret, and apply national, state and local codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, ACI, AISC, ASME, NACE). Translate electrical theory and physics to utility application for reliability improvement. Make informed repair decisions following company protocols. Work around high‑voltage equipment (up to 345 kV). Forecast budgets. Demonstrate leadership, motivation, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) and four or more years of engineering experience, or three or more years with a Fundamentals of Engineering certificate, or three or more years with a Master’s Degree. Fundamentals of Engineering certificate preferred. Valid driver’s license. Communication Skills Read and interpret documents. Write routine reports, correspondence, speeches, and presentations. Speak effectively before customers, employees, and managers. Computer Skills Proficient with electrical engineering design programs. Knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Analysis and Problem‑Solving Ability Apply common sense understanding to complex instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Handle complex problems with multiple variables. Physical Demands Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and exposure to outside elements. Lift up to 50 pounds; crouch, bend, climb, and work at heights. Protective equipment: hard‑hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Work Environment Split time between office and field; majority in office. Exposure to high‑voltage facilities, computers, and construction equipment. Summary Under direct supervision, performs entry‑level assignments developed through standard techniques and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide entry‑level engineering support for small, repetitive projects. Conduct or participate in small studies focused on performance, cost, and scheduling. Support operational areas with basic engineering work. Communicate engineering ideas and recommendations. Represent the company in fundamental technical matters. Provide entry‑level technical support to associates. Apply company and industry standards for safety and consistency. Provide occasional technical direction and supervision to contractors and lower‑level personnel. Competencies Apply basic engineering principles, practices, and regulations. Summary Under general supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques in a specific assignment area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide engineering expertise for intermediate projects. Participate in studies evaluating performance, cost, and scheduling of alternatives. Apply routine engineering techniques to operational areas. Communicate engineering ideas and evaluations effectively. Represent the company in intermediate engineering matters. Provide technical support using established standards to associates. Participate in the formulation of company and industry standards. Direct contractors and personnel as required. Summary Under general supervision, plans, schedules, and coordinates large and significant engineering projects and/or multiple small complex projects, serving as staff advisor and consultant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide advanced engineering and project management expertise for large and high‑profile projects. Lead performance, cost, and scheduling studies requiring advanced techniques. Support operations with highly skilled expertise. Communicate engineering ideas and evaluations to diverse internal and external audiences. Represent company interests in advanced engineering matters. Identify and resolve broad technical and organizational issues. Provide advanced technical support and consulting. Apply extensive engineering expertise to improve or develop new standards. Provide innovative technical direction and supervision to contractors and personnel. Lead staff engineers, professionals, and technicians; provide training as needed. Competencies Apply diverse engineering principles, practices, and regulations; perform economic and decision‑analysis studies of complex issues. Read and apply national, state, and local codes and standards. Translate electrical theory and physics to utility application for reliability.
