Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit. The position provides care for cardiac step-down patients, including post-operative open-heart patients, cardiac drips, and heart catheterization recovery. The role includes 12-hour night shifts and may require care for ventilated patients in rare circumstances based on patient needs and staffing.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of cardiac step-down experience, including heart catheterization recovery, cardiac drips, post-operative open-heart patients, and cardiac/medical-surgical step-down patients; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; experience with open-heart patients and Epic electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 36 hours per week; typically every third weekend and one holiday, subject to census and staffing.
- Additional Information: No regular on-call requirement; rare call coverage may be requested during fluctuating census or staffing conditions. Although ventilated patients are not typically admitted to the unit, care for ventilated patients may be required in rare circumstances.
