Position summary

The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for driving the end-to-end planning function, including demand, master production, and material planning, to ensure reliable product availability, optimized inventory, and operational efficiency.

This role oversees the development and execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in partnership with the Master Planner, aligning customer demand with internal capacity and supply readiness. Operating within a highly regulated nutraceuticals environment, the Planning Manager ensures GMP compliance while fostering cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Procurement, Quality, Operations, and Logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage demand planning, master scheduling, and material planning in full alignment with customer requirements and supply chain constraints
• Own and govern the Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring it reflects accurate demand signals, capacity plans, and raw material readiness
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to maintain high service levels and regulatory compliance
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and food safety requirements through disciplined planning processes including lot control, shelf-life management, FEFO/FIFO, and allergen segregation
• Lead ERP planning master data management covering BOMs, routings, and lead times while ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement
• Establish and monitor inventory strategies, balancing service level targets with working capital goals and minimizing obsolescence
• Coordinate planning readiness for new product launches and commercialization
• Lead S&OP execution by providing visibility into future demand and supply scenarios, identifying constraints, and recommending trade-offs to leadership
• Maintain proactive risk management and scenario planning, communicating recovery options with clarity and foresight
• Champion continuous improvement across all planning activities through best practices and KPI-driven performance
• Coach, develop, and mentor planning team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Food Science, Business, or a related field
• 5 to 8 years of supply chain or planning experience in nutraceuticals, food, or CPG manufacturing, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
• Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, HACCP, or SQF regulations and how they impact planning and production
• Experience with ERP and MRP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle; demand planning tools are a plus
• Familiarity with shelf-life and expiry-based planning, lot traceability, and allergen control is preferred
• Demonstrated success leading S&OP and cross-functional planning processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across departments and seniority levels
