Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced RN for a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) travel assignment. This role involves providing specialized patient care during recovery from anesthesia, with a flexible schedule including one night a week and two weekends over a 13-week contract. Responsibilities: Administer post-operative care to patients recovering from surgery, monitoring vital signs and anesthesia effects. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from surgery to recovery. Manage patient pain levels and respond to urgent clinical changes promptly. Document patient status and care provided accurately in the electronic medical record system. Adapt to varied shift times and unit protocols, ensuring compliance with safety standards and policies. Provide a pleasant and reassuring experience for patients during recovery. Qualifications: Possess at least 1 year of recent PACU or ICU experience. Hold a valid RN license in Texas. Demonstrate proficiency with Meditech EMR and general surgical procedures. Exhibit adaptability to varied shifts, including night and weekend on-call responsibilities. Be easy-going, team-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Have no specific certifications required, but ACLS familiarity is advantageous.
