Employment/Business Litigation Paralegal

Small firm located in Maplewood seeks an experienced, motivated litigation paralegal/legal assistant. Firm practice includes both commercial/employment litigation (heavier) and transactional (lighter) matters. The position will include a mixture of both clerical support (approx. 30%) and paralegal support (approx. 70%). Duties will include (but not be limited to): communications with clients, potential clients, opposing counsels and court personnel; opening, organizing, and maintaining files (electronically and in paper form); filing documents with administrative agencies, on Case.net, Pacer, and in all area courts; scheduling meetings, court dates, appointments, and managing firm calendars; manage all office systems and interact with office vendors to ensure operations continue to run efficiently, including management of the computer system, copiers, phone system, internet and other essential functions; order and obtain all necessary office goods and supplies to support office; create firm billings; assist in drafting filings (pleadings) and discovery; assist in ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records when needed; assist in reviewing and summarizing discovery; and edit and finalize work product, including pleadings, correspondence and other related documents for filing. Qualified candidates will have 5 + years of litigation paralegal and/or legal assistant experience. Employment litigation or litigation that involves potential jury trials strongly preferred. This experience should include knowledge of the legal profession, legal office operations, legal document production and court systems (state and federal). Strong computer technology skills required: proficiency with MS Office 365 including Word, Outlook, Excel; case management software (8 am a plus); and MO/federal court electronic filing systems.
