About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Must have nursing license in hand prior to start date Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Trauma Level I experience required; First time travelers accepted Description: Flexible with weekend requirements is essential. Weekend requirement will be based on unit needs. Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends during their contract. Refusal to float may result in termination of contract. Precepting or being assigned students to shadow while on assignment may be required. Charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Unit focus is on close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses. Patient conditions include congestive heart failure, post-myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, and more. Care is provided for patients post-cath lab procedures, prior to advanced cardiovascular interventions. Candidates may float to different levels of care with resources provided. Staffing ratios during night shifts is 1:4. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams. Travelers must float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Two supervisor references are required prior to consideration. Candidates must adhere to specific compliance policies related to travel employment eligibility. Two out of three major holidays must be worked during the contract period.
