We're committed to giving children back their childhood!Location: Dallas - HospitalSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Responsibilities:Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to patients, families and co-workersPerform all aspects of insurance verifications for the patients who are scheduled for Inpatient and Outpatient procedures and special radiology proceduresObtain authorizations and pre-certifications as required for all procedures; work with clinical staff to obtain additional clinical information for benefit reviewRequest and secure referrals from Primary Care Physicians and Insurance companiesAnalyze benefits for appropriate coverage for servicesCapable of calling families to verify their information and insurance coverageProvide clerical and administrative support as requiredAssist with updating and maintaining current billing systems/softwareCreate reports for tracking and trending purposesCross-train with other positions in Patient Access to provide coverage and understand overall functions of departmentResponsible for all correspondence from Insurance companiesEducation / Requirements:High School diploma requiredKnowledge of health insurance proceduresAbility to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staffSelf-starter with aptitude for following through on details and resolving discrepanciesAbility to read, write and speak English
