Basic Function: Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Manager of Learning & Organizational Development is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating organizational training and leadership development initiatives across Ada S. McKinley Community Services.
The Manager of Learning & Organizational Development will provide operational oversight of the Ada U Leadership Academy , support the development of a consistent leadership culture and strengthen leadership capacity across the organization. The position will coordinate leadership development activities, assessments, learning pathways, cohort implementation, progress tracking, and applied learning opportunities in alignment with Ada's organizational priorities.
The Manager of Learning & Organizational Development will also oversee the organization's research internship structure, including the Lead Research Intern and Public Health Research Interns, ensuring that interns receive appropriate guidance, meaningful learning opportunities, and structured experiences that contribute to Ada's research, program evaluation, and organizational initiatives.
This position works collaboratively with leadership, program departments, Human Resources, research interns, external consultants, community partners, and other stakeholders to support employee development, organizational learning, and continuous improvement.

Supervises (Position Title): Lead Research Intern, Public Health Interns
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:- Coordinate the implementation and ongoing administration of the Ada U Leadership Academy.
- Support the development and implementation of shared Ada leadership competencies and expectations that define what effective leadership looks like across the organization.
- Coordinate the implementation of individualized Ada U assessments and development plans.
- Support the use of assessment tools, including DiSC, as incorporated into the Ada U assessment and development process.
- Maintain standardized assessment, development planning, progress tracking, and reassessment tools.
- Coordinate staff placement into Ada U's tiered leadership development pathways, including:
- Basic Management
- Advanced Management
- Advanced Leadership
- Coordinate internal and external learning requirements associated with each development tier.
- Support the development and implementation of learning objectives and curriculum for each leadership tier.
- Coordinate cohort schedules, communications, learning activities, and participant requirements.
- Monitor participant progress toward individualized leadership development goals.
- Coordinate annual reassessments and support the development of subsequent-year leadership development plans.
- Track participant progression through Ada U tiers and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate the Ada U Capstone Project process, including participant communication, timelines, documentation, and completion requirements.
- Support the connection of capstone projects to organizational priorities, leadership competencies, and real-world organizational challenges.
- Coordinate communications regarding Ada U expectations, requirements, timelines, and milestones.
- Support the continuous evaluation and improvement of Ada U based on participant and organizational feedback.
Training & Professional Development
- Assess organizational training and development needs in collaboration with leadership and department managers.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate internal training programs and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in identifying appropriate external training resources and learning opportunities.
- Develop training materials, presentations, facilitator guides, participant resources, and other learning materials.
- Coordinate training schedules, registrations, attendance, completion tracking, and required documentation.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, knowledge assessment, application of learning, and other appropriate measures.
- Maintain training records and provide reports regarding participation, completion, and outcomes.
- Support managers in identifying development opportunities for employees.
- Promote the application of training and leadership development concepts to employees' day-to-day work.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen organizational learning and professional development practices.
Research Internship Oversight
- Provide operational oversight and direction for the Lead Research Intern and Public Health Research Interns.
- Establish clear expectations, assignments, timelines, and deliverables for research interns.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the Lead Research Intern.
- Support the Lead Research Intern in providing guidance and mentorship to Public Health Research Interns.
- Coordinate research internship assignments with organizational priorities and program needs.
- Review research intern work for completeness, quality, accuracy, and alignment with assigned objectives.
- Support the development of meaningful research and program evaluation experiences for interns.
- Coordinate research-related projects involving literature reviews, surveys, data collection, program evaluation, reporting, and presentations.
- Monitor intern progress and provide regular feedback regarding performance and development.
- Identify opportunities for interns to apply research and analytical skills to real organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with program leadership and other departments to identify appropriate research and evaluation opportunities.
- Support the development of professional skills among interns, including communication, project management, research ethics, data interpretation, and presentation skills.
- Ensure internship activities are appropriately documented and aligned with applicable program and organizational requirements.
Research & Program Evaluation
- Support research and program evaluation initiatives across Ada.
- Coordinate research activities involving literature reviews, surveys, interviews, focus groups, community assessments, and other data collection methods.
- Support the development and use of research methodologies, surveys, interview guides, and data collection tools.
- Review and organize research findings and assist with translating findings into reports, presentations, and other materials.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives using research and program data.
- Encourage the appropriate use of quantitative and qualitative information to support organizational decision-making.
- Support interns and staff in maintaining data accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and appropriate documentation.
Project Coordination & Organizational Support
- Develop and maintain project timelines, work plans, and deliverable tracking tools for assigned initiatives.
- Monitor progress and communicate updates, barriers, and emerging needs to leadership.
- Coordinate meetings, learning sessions, project activities, and related documentation.
- Assist with implementation of organizational initiatives involving training, leadership development, research, and employee development.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to support successful project implementation.
- Identify barriers to project completion and recommend practical solutions.
- Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, summaries, and other materials for leadership as needed.
- Support grant reporting and organizational reporting requirements related to assigned initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of employees, organizational, research, and other sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Training and Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Social Sciences, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Experience
- Three to five years of experience in training, employee development, organizational development, research, program coordination, or a related field preferred.
- Experience developing, coordinating, or facilitating training and professional development programs.
- Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with interns, students, emerging professionals, or staff development programs preferred.
- Experience with leadership development, organizational learning, or management development preferred.
- Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, public health, human services, or community-based organization preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, training platforms, survey tools, and virtual learning technologies.
- Familiarity with research, data analysis, and reporting tools are preferred.
- Ability to use technology and emerging tools, including artificial intelligence, to support training development, research, content development, and organizational efficiency while applying appropriate professional judgment.

Leadership & Organizational Impact
The Manager of Learning & Organizational Development plays a key role in building Ada's internal leadership capacity and creating sustainable systems for employee development. Through Ada U, training initiatives, and internship oversight, this position helps establish consistent expectations for leadership, supports employees in developing their capabilities, and connects learning to the organization's real work and strategic priorities.

Mental/Physical Demands :
Ability to conceptualize and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
