Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory TherapistThis position requires a night shift of 3x12.0 hours.This is a 13-week contract position.The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures to patients, and providing necessary education upon discharge.Responsibilities:Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers.Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.Review patient's chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.Assist with respiratory care procedures including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.Perform tracheostomy care, including the insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.Conduct arterial punctures and monitor, record, and report test results.Perform routine cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.Set up and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment.Maintain accurate records of treatments and patient responses.Communicate with physician teams regarding therapy efficiency.Ensure compliance with laboratory testing policies and procedures.Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:Candidates must possess a valid respiratory therapy license and relevant certifications.
