The Sr. Director, Clinical Solutions owns specific market-based initiatives, develops plans to deliver on overall market MBOs, and acts as a point of escalation across the market, ultimately driving profitable growth and deployment of the overall Clinical portfolio across the market. Where appropriate, the Sr. Director, Clinical Solutions will work with internal (matrixed and within the business unit) leaders at an executive level across Optum Insight, Optum Health, and Optum RX to align on customer plans and priorities. The Sr. Director, Clinical Solutions will develop detailed plans and drive ongoing updates to these plans; supporting a market covering $250M+ in annual revenue. You will partner with and lead the matrixed teams in support of account objectives for revenue, earnings, growth and client satisfaction. This includes engaging with the sales, operations, product, and technology teams, as well as other groups at the Optum level required to deliver upon our aggressive growth and innovation objectives. Attainment of these business objectives will be achieved through leadership competencies and practices including operational excellence, being the voice of the market, the ability to scale the business, lead in a broad matrix environment and drive growth by collaborating across other divisions within UnitedHealth Group.This role requires an individual who understands how to get things done at Optum through influence by leveraging extensive interpersonal and collaboration skills. The market enablement leader will have strong critical thinking skills, demonstrated success in driving complex growth and account plan strategies, outstanding cross-group organizational skills and agility, and highly effective communication skills (verbal and written).You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: P&L leadership for the clinical market in support of the Clin-tech Market President/General ManagerStrategic market-based projects and initiatives as identified within the market, examples include:Detailed planning and ongoing updates to these plans in support of the clinical market covering $250M+ in annual revenueRefine capital investment plans in collaboration with product and operations leaders, ongoing engagement on outcomes of capital achievement plansDevelop and engage across all market teams on MBO target setting, path to achieve, and hold the market accountable to achieveIdentify market opportunities and engage with executive leadership to act on these opportunities - deep understanding of players, trends, competitors/vendors in seat for key offerings across the marketActing COO for the clinical market, serving as a point of escalation for the market teams with internal executive leaders (GL 32+/SLT) across operations, product, growth office, tech, and marketing areas of the organizationBuild relationships, drive day-to-day activities across the Market teams to identify and resolve risks/opportunities in client management and growth strategy, talent/resourcing gaps, operational improvement gaps and opportunities Proactively identify opportunities for 'standard operating procedure' development both within and across Markets to ensure consistency and efficiency in Market roles/structure Lead team members across the matrix to develop approaches that increase the value we provide and increase the impact Optum has on the client's businessDrive business rhythm, tracking growth, performance, and team activitiesEngage across the market teams to cross-share client issues, growth opportunities including product bundling, and build initiatives list to increase overall performance of the clinical market team Driving outcomes with internal matrix business stakeholders across Optum to ensure customer centricity, high NPS scores and renewal rates, delivery against customer needs and expectations, profitable growth, and representation for the voice of the customer in our current and future products and technologiesFoster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the companyEffectively represent Our United Culture and demonstrates UHG values internally and externallyYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:10+ years in some combination of sales and/or account management and/or product and/or consulting and/or P&L management leadership roles 5+ years of experience and expertise in healthcare, particularly with clinicians, providers and provider networks5+ years of experience working with clients; building client relationships, issue management and resolution, client communication 5+ years of demonstrated success in leading and managing within a matrix environment - driving accountability and influencing within direct and indirect/matrixed spheres of control3+ years of P&L leadership experience 3+ years of demonstrated experience with, process improvement and methodology developmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience leading and/or supporting clinical programsExperience supporting Optum Markets (Providers, Employers, Payers, Federal/State government, Emerging Markets)Experience working across UHG, Optum and/or UHC lines of businesses Direct experience working with product and technology teamsExperience across Analytics, Care Continuum Delivery, ITO, AI and Revenue Cycle services for Providers Experience in human capital/people management, budgeting, project management, operations and strategy Proven application of change management methodologiesProficient skills and knowledge of servant leadership, resilience, resourcefulness, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparencyExceptional communication, critical thinking, leadership and organizational skills*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
