Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, gathering thorough assessments of mental, behavioral, and emotional health from the initial consultation through the completion of their treatment.

• Evaluate and monitor client progress throughout treatment, applying therapeutic techniques that encourage personal growth and recovery.

• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, aligning strategies with the latest mental health research and best practices.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to share their experiences and fostering a supportive community environment.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of case records in compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
\n
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers to ensure a holistic approach to mental health treatment.

• Proactively identify behaviors that may hinder recovery and design strategies to mitigate these challenges for clients.

• Engage with family members and primary caregivers to assist in managing mental and behavioral health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health disorders. Your expertise will provide essential support to individuals developing coping strategies while navigating these challenges. Given the remote nature of the practice, you will engage with clients from various backgrounds, allowing for a rich exchange of perspectives that enhances both counselor effectiveness and client growth.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on empathetic engagement with clients.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote team setting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor in a telehealth setting or familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR.

• Background in addressing underlying physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and treatment modalities.

• An in-depth understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects, along with the ability to communicate these to clients and family members.

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to counseling.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
