Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Research Study Assistant I to join our Public Health Sciences research team in Detroit, United States. In this entry-level position, you will play a vital role in supporting our research initiatives by assisting with study coordination, data collection, and documentation. Working collaboratively with principal investigators and research staff, you will help ensure the smooth execution of public health research projects while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance. • Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants following established protocols and procedures with meticulous attention to detail
• Collect, organize, and maintain accurate research data using designated databases and documentation systems
• Prepare and manage study materials, including informed consent forms, questionnaires, and participant records
• Support the coordination of study visits and appointments, including scheduling and participant communication
• Perform data entry and verification tasks with precision to ensure data integrity and quality
• Assist with literature reviews and compile research information as directed by the research team
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and IRB guidelines
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with study participants, research staff, and external collaborators
• Support the preparation of study reports, presentations, and regulatory documentation
• Perform administrative tasks including filing, organizing, and managing research materials efficiently
• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing research priorities and timelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Ability to follow detailed protocols and procedures with precision
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

• Previous experience in a research setting, clinical environment, or public health organization
• Familiarity with research databases or electronic data capture systems
• Knowledge of public health principles, concepts, and current health initiatives
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis or research methodology
• Experience with participant recruitment, community engagement, or outreach
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in human subjects research and institutional review processes
• Experience with HIPAA compliance and data privacy protocols
• Bilingual capabilities (particularly Spanish) to support diverse participant populations
