CHIEF Medical Physicist

Job SummaryPerforms a variety of medical physics responsibiities including oversight for the physics/dosimetry area of the department; development of techniques used to standardize and calibrate imaging and therapy equipment; performs treatment planning for special cases; assists staff with simulations, treatments, and special device fabrication upon request; performs acceptance testing, measurements, commissioning and ongoing quality assurance testing fo linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and other equipment; maintains quality assurance files for state inspections.ResponsibilitiesAssumes responsibility for general oversight of physics/dosimetry.Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as indicated.Oversees quality control measures.Participates in Performance Improvement and radiation safety activities.Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.Completes assigned goals.SpecificationsExperienceMinimum RequiredABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology programPreferred/DesiredABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology programEducationMinimum RequiredMasters DegreePreferred/DesiredMasters DegreeTrainingMinimum RequiredPreferred/DesiredSpecial SkillsMinimum RequiredAdvanced computer literacy skills.
