About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a strong background in real estate, commercial, and corporate law to provide practical and business-focused legal guidance. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including the preparation, review, and negotiation of various documents related to real estate transactions, leasing, construction, and commercial arrangements. This role requires close collaboration with the General Counsel, internal teams, and external advisors to support transactions, manage legal risk, and ensure that legal guidance aligns with business objectives. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law, and have at least 5 years of experience in the relevant legal areas. Key responsibilities for the Senior Counsel include supporting acquisitions, dispositions, and development initiatives, as well as organizing due diligence and driving transactions toward closing. The role also involves researching and assisting with property-related issues, contributing to financing and project documentation, and managing corporate maintenance and compliance. The candidate should be adept at identifying legal and commercial concerns, managing disputes, and staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments. A detail-oriented, collaborative, and discreet approach is essential, as is the ability to work effectively across legal, operational, and business teams. Prior experience in mixed-use developments, commercial real estate portfolios, and related matters is preferred.
