We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our team. The NEMT Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients and clients to and from medical appointments, treatment facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare-related destinations. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, excellent customer service, and a commitment to providing reliable transportation services for individuals with varying mobility needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers to scheduled medical appointments and healthcare facilities.
• Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids.
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment according to company and safety standards.
• Maintain punctual pick-up and drop-off schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and in good operating condition.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with passengers, dispatch personnel, healthcare staff, and caregivers.
• Complete required trip documentation, mileage logs, and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum age of 21 years old (or as required by insurance provider).
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility challenges.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use GPS navigation and mobile communication devices.

Preferred

• Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation, healthcare transportation, senior care, patient services, or professional driving.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and maneuver mobility equipment.
• Ability to assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
