Telephone CMA

Location: Mobile, AL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM
Occasional late evening (typically 1-2 times per month, usually no later than 6:00 PM)
Pay: $16.50-$17.50 per hour based on experience. Exceptional candidates with extensive phone triage or specialty practice experience may be considered individually.

We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant to join our Phone Triage team. This role is ideal for a CMA who enjoys patient interaction, clinical coordination, and serving as a trusted resource for patients and providers alike.

Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Minimum of 5 years of medical office experience
Strong patient communication and customer service skills
Previous phone triage experience preferred
Epic EMR experience is a plus, but not required
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Essential Responsibilities
Answer incoming patient calls in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner.
Assess patient concerns and appropriately triage calls to physicians or other team members.
Review incoming laboratory and diagnostic results as they are received.
Ensure laboratory or diagnostic findings requiring clinical review are presented to the physician promptly.
Coordinate follow-up care, including laboratory orders, diagnostic testing, appointments, and patient education as directed by providers.
Assist with prescription refill requests and ensure timely communication with pharmacies.
Maintain full compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements.
Cross-train to support additional clinical functions as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
