Job Description: The Resident Consultant is an integral part of our mission within the enterprise sector, providing pre & post-sales support of Juniper Networks products. You will be part of a customer account that has experienced high, steady growth. You will be the trusted advisor to our customers working on-site supporting our mission to help them quickly and completely adopt the Juniper portfolio of products. This is a highly technical role, requiring expert-level skill sets on our products and solutions deployed within the customer's environment. You will be responsible for working side-by-side with supporting the customer's operations. ***This is a teleworker role with the requirement of one week per month of on-site work at the San Francisco Airport. You must be willing to travel.*** Role Responsibilities: Hold network information gathering workshops to understand the Customer's existing network design and technical requirements of new network designs. Troubleshoot network design and architecture issues. Provide network design leadership, assisting in identifying and building solutions. Analyze network and device configurations. Test product features and functionality Provide deployment guidance to ensure consistent implementations with design specifications. Facilitate informal workshops to transfer knowledge to engineering staff. Apply industry best practices to network design, planning, and implementation. Apply extensive industry experience to optimize network performance and proactively analyze potential enhancements. Evaluate technical specifications for interoperability. Troubleshoot equipment and network problems, work with JTAC to resolve problems on pre- and post-production issues. Produce a written summary report of the status of Design projects, equipment and network problems regularly to the Customer Train the Customer's design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate the Juniper Networks products Assist in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures Support the production environment of Juniper products within the Customer infrastructure Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies for Juniper product applications used by Customer Knowledge and Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in crises with all levels of an organization from Engineering/Operations to CIO/CISO audiences. Ability to refine and translate complex requirements and execute best practice solutions. Assisted with major network upgrades, maintenance windows, and changes in the customer network. Strong customer interface and presentation skills. Customer education – TOI's and Lunch & Learns. Other tasks and duties as needed to support the customer and/or business Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks. JUNOS CLI experience. Must have large-scale experience with Juniper hardware (MX, EX, QFX, SRX and MIST products) EVPN-VXLAN Campus & Data Center Juniper switching fabric experience SRX high-end/mid-range/branch experience (FW policy, IPS, IPSec VPN, HA clustering) Experience with core routing BGP, OSPF protocols. Experience with design and/or deployment of routing and switching products within the Customer infrastructure. Experience using, evaluating, and developing appropriate engineering design tools and software packages. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Extensive experience EVPN/MPLS. E-Line (VPWS), E-LAN (VPLS), L3VPN over MPLS, L2VPN over MPLS, IS-IS, RSVP-TE, LDP Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels. JNCIE Certifications are highly preferred.
