RRE CDG Services Outage Manager II (Project Manager II)

Responsibilities Provide leadership, oversight, delegation, and coordination to the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the outage, including schedule development, engineering milestones, project integration, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, and more. The Outage Manager coordinates all matrixed members of the outage team on a daily basis and is responsible for interfacing with functional managers and stakeholders, ensuring overall success of the outage. Structure, lead, and assist in leading all outage‑related meetings and required reporting, such as project/outage readiness reviews, kickoff meetings, monthly planning meetings, and associated outage reports. Ensure the outage plan, reports, and reporting means are developed and managed according to RRE Outage Management Guidelines, and present reports to appropriate management/governance teams, championing the process of outage planning, scope development, schedule formation, cost control, resource/contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, start‑up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. Manage project planning and execution activities like scope definition, detailed design, construction, start‑up, commissioning, turnover to operations, warranty management, and attainment of outage objectives, stakeholders, and deliverables. Develop resource plans, budgets, lessons learned, risk, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data management, communications, reporting, change management, and outage close‑out plans. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 5 years related work experience In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, high school/GED and 9 years related work experience Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field 15 years related work experience Project Management Professional, Professional Engineer, Certified Associate of Project Management, Utility Technical Certifications/Training, or Construction Management Institute International Certification Additional Preferred Qualifications Proficient expertise in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving Project‑related experience in risk management, project leadership, strong collaboration, and oversight Utility business‑unit experience (regulated or commercial energy services) Construction management knowledge Proficiency to expert in scheduling, cost controls, and related project disciplines Working Conditions Hybrid – work performed from remote and onsite locations after onboarding; hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
