What You'll Do As an Assistant Manager, you'll partner closely with the General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, develop your team, and ensure every guest receives an exceptional experience. Your responsibilities include: Supporting the General Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the restaurant Leading by example and creating a positive, energetic, and team-focused work environment Coaching, developing, and motivating Crew Members and Shift Leaders Assisting with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members Helping develop Shift Leaders and Crew Members into future restaurant leaders Delivering fast, friendly, and memorable guest experiences Ensuring fresh, high-quality food is prepared consistently according to company standards Maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and restaurant execution Leading shifts and ensuring the restaurant is properly staffed and prepared for business Supporting scheduling and staffing needs in partnership with the General Manager Monitoring labor, food costs, inventory, waste, and other restaurant performance metrics Assisting with inventory management, ordering, product rotation, and cost controls Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company operating standards Managing opening and closing procedures Handling guest concerns professionally and finding positive solutions Holding team members accountable while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment Identifying opportunities to improve restaurant operations, team performance, and the guest experience Taking ownership of restaurant operations when the General Manager is not present What We're Looking For We're looking for leaders who: Have previous restaurant, food service, retail, hospitality, or customer service leadership experience Enjoy coaching, mentoring, and developing others Lead by example with energy, accountability, and a positive attitude Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and restaurant leadership Are confident making decisions and solving problems Take ownership of results and continuously look for ways to improve Are organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities Care about creating a great experience for both guests and employees Are excited about growing their leadership career with a growing restaurant brand Previous Assistant Manager or restaurant management experience is preferred, but we're also excited to develop strong Shift Leaders who are ready for their next challenge. Requirements Previous leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, hospitality, or customer service environment preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Reliable attendance and transportation Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on restaurant environment Must meet applicable age requirements for operating certain equipment where required by state or local regulations Ability to follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and company standards Food safety certification may be required and will be provided through training if applicable What Success Looks Like A successful Assistant Manager at The Smoked Taco: Builds strong relationships with team members and helps create a positive restaurant culture Coaches and develops Crew Members and Shift Leaders into stronger performers and future leaders Helps deliver exceptional guest experiences every shift Maintains high standards for food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and restaurant execution Helps the restaurant achieve labor, food cost, sales, and operational goals Takes ownership and confidently leads the restaurant when the General Manager is not present Identifies problems quickly and takes action to find solutions Brings energy, positivity, and accountability to the restaurant every day Why Join The Smoked Taco?
