Senior Estimator
Location: Greater Boston Pay: $140,000 - $180,000+ DOE Schedule: Primarily on site, some hybrid flexibility once up to speed
One of the top general contractors in New England is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys the challenge of pricing diverse commercial projects throughout the Boston area. What you'll do:
- Lead the estimating process for large-scale projects from conceptual budgets through final GMP proposals
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing, ensuring complete scope coverage
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and clients
- Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction to identify cost-saving strategies, phasing options, and value engineering opportunities
- Mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on quantity take-offs, pricing, and bid preparation
- Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposals and client presentations
What you need:
- 8+ years of estimating experience, primarily with general contractors
- Prior experience as a Senior Estimator, or be an Estimator who's ready to take on a Senior position
- Proven ability to manage estimates for commercial projects ranging from $10M–$100M+
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and market pricing
- Proficiency with estimating software (Procore, OST, or similar preferred)
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
