You understand the value of developing excellent relationships with leaders of other departments to ensure cross-functional collaboration.WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Director of Workforce Automation and Technical Support (Director I) performs advanced (senior-level) managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning. Supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:- Oversee subject matter experts in the design and continued enhancement of several management information systems within the Workforce Development Division.- Coordinate input from project stakeholders and subject matter experts, including Local Workforce Development Boards and agency staff, on their needs, business programs/processes, and improvement recommendations to automation systems.- Oversee strategic planning, documenting, communicating, and connecting the vision/philosophy of the agency’s integrated service delivery with workforce development automation tools.- Identify and make recommendations for maintenance and enhancement of TWC’s Workforce Development automation tools.- Plan the development and implementation of enhanced business and automation projects, adhering to sound development standards, ensuring deliverables meet the agreed upon quality and content and are reviewed and accepted by all appropriate parties before acceptance. Develop, implement, and maintain performance accountability and quality assurance processes, best practices, and standards for the department.- Make formal presentations on projects to stakeholders and executive agency leadership.- Coordinate with TWC’s Information Technology Division and other divisions planning automation changes to prioritize and implement changes within established timelines.- Work with departmental support staff to ensure that customer support tickets are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.- Perform other related duties as assigned.YOU QUALIFY WITH:- Five years of full-time experience in the oversight and direction of an agency program; or in strategic planning and policy development and implementation, two years of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:Knowledge of:- Best practices in data analytics, data integrity, reasonability testing, and quality assurance.- Relational databases and structured query languages (SQL).- Data Analytic software and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel, and SQL Server Management Studio).- Diverse system applications for managing job seeker and employer needs, including tracking client participation in agency supported programs. - Microsoft Office 365 application suite.Skill in:- Managing relationships with outside vendors to develop business requirements and modification requests. - Creating administrative reports and specialized research projects including statistical, financial, and policy analysis.- Establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools to monitor functions and ensure department goals and priorities are continually met on time.- Coordinating and evaluating program activities, and implementing new ways for staff to work smarter, more efficiently and be better organized.- Preparing and delivering presentations, reports and recommendations.- Balancing competing priorities and requests.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to:- Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.- Communicate proactively with leadership, teams and internal and external stakeholders. - Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.- Think outside the box to recommend creative solutions to challenges faced by the division.- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across the agency. - Supervise and motivate staff in support of the goals of the Workforce Development Division and TWC.- Stay informed of programs and emerging technologies, and legislative changes that may affect the department or TWC.YOU GAIN: - A Family Friendly Certified Workplace- Competitive salary: $8,551.42 - $8,978.99/month - Defined Retirement Benefit Plan - Optional 401(k) and 457 accounts - Medical Insurance - Paid time off, including time for vacation, sick and family care leave - Additional benefits for active employees can be found at Duty involves up to 5% travel within the state of Texas.VETERANS:Use your military skills to qualify for this position or other jobs!
