Vascular Echo Tech: Quality Studies & Lab Coordination

Vascular / Echo Technologist Harrison Memorial Hospital seeks a Vascular/Echo Technologist to coordinate and assist in all activities performed in the vascular lab, maintain reports, records, and collect statistics, and deliver quality vascular ultrasound studies. Job Summary / Purpose Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the vascular lab, maintains reports, records, and collects statistics, ensures delivery of quality vascular ultrasound studies, acts as an education resource, maintains equipment function, performs vascular examinations, and assists with quality improvement studies. Job Responsibilities Provides appropriate age specific and culturally oriented patient care. Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the vascular lab. Maintains reports, records, and collects statistics. Files all patient reports and maintains them for easy retrieval daily. Provides lab statistics to the director on a bimonthly basis. Ensures delivery of quality vascular ultrasound studies and monitors quality continuously. Assists with orientation of new staff or students as requested. Ensures all equipment is functioning properly. Performs vascular examinations and performs studies as scheduled whenever possible. Correlates patient symptoms and clinical findings with observed results. Notifies physician immediately when clinical symptoms and test results indicate a positive outcome. Writes a technical finding on each study performed. Takes representative anatomical pictures and recognizes normal versus abnormal anatomy. Assists in performing quality improvement studies. Performs QA reports at least quarterly. Conducts Quality Control procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment. Ensures a safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures. Minimum Qualifications Associates degree from an appropriate program based on license. Current ARRT licensure as a Registered Radiologic Technologist in good standing, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) with relevant cardiovascular imaging experience, or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification through ARDMS, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification through ARDMS or CCI. Graduate of an accredited Echo/Vascular program. Education & Certification Requirements Associate Degree with related experience. BLS. ARRT License. RVT or RCS preferred.
