Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Pulmonary Clinic

Location: Avera Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine, Sioux Falls. Work shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; 80 hrs/2 weeks. Regular work type. Pay range: $22.50 - $41.25 per hour. Position highlights: LPN $22.50-$31.50 per hour; RN $27.75-$41.75 per hour. Overview The LPN/RN position provides professional nursing care under the direction of the provider. An active state nursing license is required. Responsibilities Perform general nursing care to patients. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic. Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing. Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to treatments to provider. Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure patient preferences in emergency situations. Maintain timely flow of patients. Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination. Screen patients for appropriate information, including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting nursing assessment. Document obtained information in patient chart. Instruct patients in sample collection and testing. Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from physician. Educate patients and families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness. Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints. Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness. Prepare list of medical supplies needed. Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens and perform quality control, maintaining records on all lab testing. Qualifications Essential qualifications include: Ability to work specified hours and shift schedule. Adequate visual acuity and effective communication skills. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active state license.
