Registered Nurse – Med-Surg

Schedule

12-hour shifts, Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend, and every other holiday.

Assignment Details

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Contract Weeks: 13

Requirements

4+ years of recent acute care experience
Experience in step-down is preferred for night shifts
Experience with Meditech IVs and telemetry
Ability to adapt quickly to different units
1 recent successful travel contract
Must independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam with at least 84% (2 attempts)
Experience managing titratable IV drips; specifically with nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
Preferred experience with EPIC
5+ years of previous float experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a med-surg environment
Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed
Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and their families on health management strategies
Document patient symptoms and progress in medical records
Respond to emergency situations appropriately

Compliance / Notes

No extended time off requests will be accommodated, and most Fridays will be required. Specific schedule requests may not be honored.
