TRAINING SPECIALIST (TRAINING DEVELOPMENT)

Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Training Specialist (Training Development) for USSOUTHCOM in the Exercises and Coalition Affairs Directorate in Miami, FL. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- Responsible for the design and development of training materials for relevant courses.
- Accountable for staff leadership, management, direction, coordination, and oversight and control of the training support programs within USSOUTHCOM.
- Provide policy and procedural guidance to USSOUTHCOM, Service Components, and other agencies in areas such as training support coordination, master scheduling, and training evaluation systems.
- Manage the design of training courses to include mandatory training sequence, course length, lesson outlines, learning objectives, and resource requirements.
- Develop unique training programs to fulfill personnel's specific needs to maintain or improve job skills and performance.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position may require occasional TDY travel.
- May be required to work overtime.
- This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.

- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

- This is an Education and Information Sciences Career Field position.

- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
- Advance-in-Hire may be authorized.
- Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive is not authorized.
- This position is statutorily excluded from bargaining unit eligibility.
- Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 5 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
- "Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position."
- Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
