Admitting Clerk Position

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a part-time and full-time Admitting Clerk to join our Admissions Team at the Regional Medical Center location! Are you friendly, show close attention to detail and willing to assist and communicate with patients regarding their registration into the hospital? If so, we'd love for you to apply for one of our Admitting Clerk positions!

Please note, this position may require evening and weekend shifts as well as travel to different locations as needed.

What You'll Need:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year experience in an office setting, required.
• Comprehensive computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.

What You'll Do:

• Greet patients/visitors in a courteous, welcoming manner
• Ensure patient understands and signs all required forms as it pertains to the patient's registration/admission
• Accurate entry of all required information into the hospital system
• Collect payment when applicable
• Notify the clinical department with the physician order for all outpatient services and prompt notification to the ER clinical staff of individuals seeking emergency services
• Verify that all patient and insurance information is entered accurately and that authorization is obtained for the services rendered
• Coordinate with referring physician office as it pertains to registration requirements
