Good Shepherd Fairview Home is looking for an Accountant to contribute to our excellent team in smoothly keeping our facility balanced!

Monday - Friday, Day shift, 8hours

Position Summary

The Accountant assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of the financial services in the facility. In collaboration with the Controller and CFO, the Accountant oversees the financial optimization of the organization. They will collaborate with finance staff, other departments. vendors. consultants, government agencies, and advocacy groups to develop, support, and coordinate the financial health of the facility.

Key responsibilities of an Accountant include

• Accounts payable processing and check runs

• Cash receipts posting and checkbook maintenance

• Journal entries, intercompany transactions/entries, and account reconciliations

• Fixed assets and depreciation tracking

• Preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

• Financial reporting and audit support

• Required filings, including Cash Receipts Assessment, sales tax, and annual tax filings

• Assisting with Medicare, Medicaid, and other cost reporting requirements

• Serving as backup support for other accounting areas/entities as needed

• Interacting with billing and other departments to resolve accounting and operational issues

• Maintaining organized and accurate accounting records

• Other duties/tasks as assigned

Position Qualifications/ Requirements

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Long Term Care Financial Experience (Preferred)

2 Year Degree (Required) with Relevant Experience

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage recurring deadlines required.
