Job Title: Principal Architect - Commercial Development Job ID: 83313 Location: Orlando, Florida Overview: We are representing a highly regarded architectural practice seeking an experienced Principal Architect to lead its Orlando office. This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days a week) offering the opportunity to shape and grow a studio with a strong focus on commercial, retail, and mixed-use development projects. What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic vision, leadership, and inspiration for the Orlando office.
- Drive client development and engagement, targeting new projects in commercial, retail, and mixed-use sectors.
- Establish and grow the studio, with goals to double developer retail sector revenue within two years and secure three large-scale projects during that time.
- Lead, mentor, and expand the architectural team while ensuring quality assurance and financial performance.
- Oversee project pursuits, pipeline, risk management, and studio profitability.
- Partner with business development and technical leaders to pursue and win new work.
- Ensure adherence to corporate standards, contracts, budgets, and quality control processes.
- Bachelor of Architecture required; Master's in Architecture or Business preferred.
- Registered Architect (RA) required (does not have to be Florida).
- Minimum 15 years of progressive architectural experience, including at least 10 years functioning as a lead on complex projects.
- Proven success in business development, client relationships, and winning project pursuits.
- Strong background in commercial, retail, and mixed-use development projects (preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage studio performance, growth, and profitability.
