This position is well suited for either an experienced estimator or a construction professional—such as a carpenter, foreman, or project coordinator—who understands how work gets built and is ready to transition into an estimating and project-management role. Commercial roofing experience is preferred but not required for a strong candidate with relevant construction experience and the ability to learn. ### Position Responsibilities * Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project requirements * Perform field measurements and attend pre-bid site visits * Prepare material takeoffs, labor estimates, and competitive proposals * Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors * Identify project risks, exclusions, alternates, and unusual conditions * Communicate with owners, general contractors, architects, suppliers, and field personnel * Assist with project handoff, purchasing, scheduling, and job-cost tracking * Maintain organized bid records and follow up on submitted proposals * Develop a working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, insulation, sheet metal, shingle, slate, tile, shake and related accessories ### Ideal Candidate * Construction field, estimating, project-management, or supervisory experience * Ability to read construction drawings and specifications * Strong mathematical, organizational, and computer skills * Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy * Comfortable communicating professionally with customers and vendors * Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple bids * Practical understanding of labor, materials, and jobsite conditions * Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record * Commercial roofing knowledge is a plus, but training may be provided We place significant value on practical construction experience.
