Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III experience and active certifications including NRP and STABLE.

Details

• Level III NICU setting in a hospital environment
• Patient population includes neonates under 24 weeks gestational age through full-term, with a primary focus on the most critical neonates (under 24–28 weeks)
• Patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Weekend requirement of 5 shifts per 6-week period; schedule is set by the facility
• No block scheduling available
• Floating within scope may be required, including to other facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or OK state license) required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP/NALS, and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
• Proficiency in a broad range of NICU skills including IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC care, central line blood draws, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillators, chest tube management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with neonatal conditions including neonatal abstinence syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, neonatal sepsis, and sepsis workup
• Experience with phototherapy, gavage/bottle/breast feedings, NG/NJ tube placement, and breastfeeding support
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Valid driver's license or state-issued ID and a utility bill (cell phone, electric, gas, water, sewer, Wi-Fi, mortgage statement, or lease agreement) in the candidate's name with a matching address from within the last 3 months are required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate's permanent address must be greater than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Former permanent employees of this health system must have a minimum of 1-year separation before being eligible
• RTO is limited to no more than 5 days per 13-week assignment; no holiday RTO is permitted
• Orientation includes clinical and non-clinical modules, averaging 2–8 hours and completed on-site; clinical module hours are non-billable
• Willingness to float to other facilities within a 75-mile radius is required
