Learning & Development Specialist

New York City | $140,000-$170,000 Base + Bonus We are partnering with a leading global investment management firm to appoint a Learning & Development Specialist to its New York team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced L&D professional who enjoys designing bespoke learning solutions, partnering with sophisticated stakeholders and exploring how Tech can transform learning and development. Working as part of a highly collaborative L&D function, the successful candidate will help design and deliver customized learning experiences across areas including professional effectiveness, manager development, written communication, onboarding, financial and technical skills, mentoring and leadership development. A key component of the position will be exploring and implementing the practical application of Tech and AI within L&D, including how emerging technologies can enhance learning design, content creation, delivery and the overall learner experience. Key Responsibilities Partner with L&D colleagues and business stakeholders to design, develop, deliver and evaluate learning programs across the organization. Support learning initiatives covering professional effectiveness, manager and leader development, written communication, onboarding, mentoring, and financial and technical skills. Stay current on developments across the AI and learning technology landscape, bringing new ideas and practical applications into the function. Partner with internal and external subject-matter experts to create highly customized learning experiences. Develop learning solutions across a range of formats, including workshops, coaching, tutorials, AI-enabled simulations, written resources and bespoke business-led programs. Facilitate learning sessions within relevant areas of expertise. Manage multiple L&D projects and workstreams simultaneously, coordinating stakeholders and taking initiatives from concept through delivery. Evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously identify opportunities to improve programs and learner outcomes. What We're Looking For Approximately 5-8+ years of professional experience, including meaningful experience within Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organizational Development or a related field. Demonstrated experience designing and/or delivering learning programs within a complex professional environment. Genuine interest and practical experience with AI , particularly its application within learning, content development or professional workflows. Experience across one or more areas such as manager development, leadership development, professional skills, communication, onboarding, mentoring or technical/financial learning. Strong instructional design capabilities and the ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging and practical learning experiences. Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar subject areas, conduct research and synthesize complex information. Excellent written communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. Strong project-management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and cross-functional dependencies. Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, using sound judgment to move projects forward. A highly collaborative, intellectually curious and detail-oriented approach. Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
