Dietary Aide

At ALIYA of Evanston , we're committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. As a Dietary Aide , you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive high-quality food and nutrition services. Responsibilities Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders. Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and approved substitute foods for residents who decline served foods. Maintain a clean and safe environment by ensuring equipment and supplies are properly maintained and facility infection control precautions are followed. Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils, cookware, and equipment are clean and readily available for the next meal. Prepare and deliver snacks, food carts, and meal trays to designated areas. Serve food and beverages in the dining room in a courteous and professional manner. Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as instructed by the supervisor. Maintain clean and organized food service areas and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures. Report equipment concerns, safety hazards, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of experience in food service or a related field preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to properly care for and use dietary supplies and equipment. Ability to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of assigned work areas. Ability to perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, organization, safety, and proper completion of assigned duties. Possess patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition when working with residents. Ability to learn and incorporate new methods and principles into established food service practices.
