On Any Given Day You’ll Provide engineering support for a variety of municipal and private projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, bridges, trails, and traffic signals Assist with the concept, design, and engineering required to complete IDOT and Local Roads preliminary engineering projects Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders both verbally and written Understand project schedules and implement accordingly Understand and execute requirements for different funding opportunities Prepare and execute exhibits to communicate with clients for inclusion in project reports Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulationsEnvironmental Survey Request process Write project reports Write Funding Applications Prepare project cost estimates Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois or an EIT with the ability to achieve State of Illinois License within 12 months Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record Minimum of 5 years of experience with IDOT and Phase I projects Desired Skills And Experiences Experience with ISTHA/IDOT and Local Roads project processing procedures Microstation/Geopak software Geometric Design Physical Demands Ability to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, and walk or stand on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
